Title: Worth the Fight
Author: Vi Keeland
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age Group: Adult
Expected release: October 3, 2013

It didn’t matter that the ref called it a clean hit.  Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life.  A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half.  But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way.  Too many emotions are dangerous.  Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them.  But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common?  A lot more than they bargained for.

Worth the Fight was a fabulous read! I loved every last sentence! The thing I love about Vi Keeland's books, is that she can take a simple plot and make you spellbound, which was the case with Worth the Fight. The plot wasn't complicated nor the idea one of a kind (MMA fighter), but the writing is what will get you, hook, line, and sinker! The sexy time is smoking hot, the humorous times made you LOL! And that cover.. I mean just look at the it! *fans face* I also really liked that Keeland didn't make you hate Elle. There was a smidgen of a love triangle in the beginning, that could've clearly gotten out of hand, but Elle handled the situation exactly how you as the reader would want.

"Are you seeing anyone?"
"No." My instant response is assertive.
"Yes. You are."
I'm confused. "I am?"
"I don't share Elle."
"Oh." Oh my.
...
"We're going to try this again." He searches my eyes before he continues. "Are you seeing anyone Elle?"
"Yes?"
Nico smirks. "You don't sound so sure of your answer, Babe."
"Will you kiss me again if I get it right?"

The story is about two broken people, both have an extremely guilty past. So what do they do? They play life safe, even if that means quitting throwing in the towel on your fighting career or love life. The story is told from the POV of Nico "The Lady Killer" Hunter, an alpha male with abs that can melt butter, and a bed that's a revolving door; and Elle, a straight laced attorney, that would rather only gamble in the court room. That all changes on the day Elle meets Nico. She knows that her feelings aren't safe, but she can't deny him. (And I for one wouldn't blame her!)Unable to fight it, the two decide to give it a try, but guilt has a way of coming in between them.. maybe they're just too broken to make it work.

Overall, WTF is a super steamy read, while being emotional and almost heartbreaking at times! It's a wonderful read, that I would definitely recommend to everyone! I so can't wait to read the next in the series!!!

Just One Reason Blog Tour and Giveaway!!

Title:  Just One Reason
Author:  Kirsten DeMuzio
Genre:  New Adult Romance/Contemporary Romance 18+
Publication Date:  July 19, 2013
Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.
As teenagers, Lindsay and Grady found a love together that few people are lucky enough to ever experience.
When Lindsay Ross decided to visit her aunt for the summer in a small lake town in New York, she didn’t expect anything other than an escape from her demanding parents.  She certainly didn’t expect Grady Hawke.  At the end of the summer, Lindsay and Grady made plans for their future and vowed to be together forever.  Back in New York City, events beyond her control forced Lindsay to turn her back on Grady and their love.

Grady has spent the last five years trying to forget the one girl who broke his heart.  But when Lindsay arrives back in town unannounced, will Grady get to know the woman she has become and find out the real reason she left him all those years ago?  Or will he push her away for good?

Just One Reason was a cute, heartfelt read. It was very emotional at times, and a book that you could easily relate to. It's told in a duel POV from the perspective of Lindsay and Grady. The two fell in love over the summer and promised to stay in touch. But something happens and Lindsay breaks Grady's heart, but things aren't so black and white. Lindsay returns to the town that Grady lives in, to figure out her life. The only thing standing in her way is Grady. He's broken, still, and pissed that she left him. They try to avoid each other, but the love they still hold is undeniable. The secret that Lindsay is hiding, may break them for good.

Overall, I would say there wasn't anything that I didn't like about the book... but there's really nothing I flat-out loved either. It's a solid romantic read, that's well written. I loved the last few chapters of the book, and my heart was happy at the end. I will read the next book in this series, if it's about Ford (Grady's brooding bartender friend).

Forever Innocent Blog Tour and $50 GC Giveaway!!

Forever Innocent by Deanna Roy
Publication date: October 1st 2013
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

“Our baby died on prom night, and nothing was ever the same again.”

Corabelle doesn’t feel like any of the other college girls. On what should have been one of the happiest nights of her life, she and her boyfriend Gavin watched a nurse disconnect the ventilator from their seven-day-old baby. During the funeral two days later, Gavin walked out and never returned.

Since then, her life has been a spiral of disasters. The only thing that has helped is her ability to black out whenever the pain gets too hard to bear, a habit that has become an addiction.

When Gavin shows up in her astronomy class four years later, he is hell-bent on getting her back, insisting she forgive him. Corabelle knows she can’t resist the touch that fills the empty ache that has haunted her since he left. But if he learns what she has done, if he follows the trail back through her past, her secrets will destroy their love completely. And once again, she’ll lose the only person who always believed she was innocent.

Forever Innocent by Deanna Roy is truly a heart breaking, emotional roller coaster of a read. It was one of those books that could be read in one sitting, but I personally was getting way too emotionally involved and had to take a couple breathers. It is a very well written duel POV between Gavin and Corabelle, I equally enjoyed both perspectives and thought it gave a lot of depth to the story since both characters had their own set of personal demons even though they experienced the same tragedy.

Corabelle is damaged from the start, she is starting at a new school and consciously cutting herself off from any deep relationships. Even her best friend is a girl she only sees at work and class. As bits and pieces of Corabelle's tormented past come to light it becomes apparent that her unrelenting grief of losing her 7 day old child consumes her entire life. Gavin had grown up with Corabelle. They were best childhood friends who bloomed into each others' firsts for almost everything. When Corabelle fell unexpectedly pregnant Gavin not only stayed by her side but also purposed to her. But their world was forever changed when their baby came premature and had a life threatening heart defect. Corabelle's grief and self blame were multiplied one hundred times over when Gavin left, never to be heard from again right after their baby boy's funeral. The hardships followed Corabelle with her to college and then again 4 years later when she transferred schools to attend UC San Diego only have none other than Gavin be a fellow student in her astronomy class. Both Gavin and Corabelle had done massively destructive things to themselves over the passed years, but the spark in their relationship was still burning strong. But ultimately they had to decide whether fate had brought them together again to continually torture their souls or finally find healing for themselves in each other.

This is one of those stories that will emotionally rock you to the core. Roy does a phenomenal job of writing characters that the reader becomes incredibly empathetic with and creates such a believable and relatable state of emotional and mental anguish. She does not simply say "Corabelle and Gavin's baby died" she created the entire scene of them being in the hospital that week with him, teenagers having to make medical decisions for their baby to remove him from life support, and having to be with him as he passed (there is no way any mom finished reading that part with dry eyes). I also had a very great appreciation for the way she wrote grief and depression not just as tears and sadness, but also the physical toll it takes. This is definitely a NA book, but far far from smutty. The sexual relationship between Corabelle and Gavin is undeniably hot, but more utilized as a way to continue to show the many forms of grief and loss. The book does end with a sequel to come, I am curious to see how Roy will continue the story, it was so good that I have a fear the following book could be a bit on the redundant side. I really hope not, it just didn't seem like there was a whole lot left to tell without creating a whole new set of circumstances for the couple.

Breathless Blog Tour and Giveaway!!

Breathless

Some truths can leave you breathless...

Two years ago Ree Coleman’s life imploded, when her life was taken away from her. Now Ree is a "living dead girl", trying to survive each day, when it’s just a struggle to breathe.

After the unexpected death of her father, Ree and her family lose everything. As they are forced to leave the rich Upper East Side, they find themselves living in the slums of Bronx. Ree must figure out ways for her family to get by, and she tries to accept her father’s death. However, his death prompts many questions, including what really happened to him.

Meanwhile she meets Logan Marquez, a boy with a dangerous reputation. Knowing that boys are dangerous, Ree tries to stay away from him, but Logan insists on trying to earn her trust and friendship.

Soon, dark and dangerous secrets are revealed, and one explosive secret will shatter both their worlds.

Due to heavy subject matter, graphic scenes and sexual content this book is intended for mature readers.

Breathless was a good read. There was a lot going on and the romance was steamy. This book had a lot of mystery/suspense and dealt with some dark materials. At the beginning of the story, we meet a very broken Ree Coleman. She had been kidnapped and abused, managed to escape her captor, and is on the edge of sanity two years later. Just when she seems to be making progress, shit hit the fan, and in a very big way. Ree finds herself and her family in a slummy apartment, with two jobs, and caring for her family. And somehow that still isn't rock bottom. Though a new neighbor, Logan is helping her pull it together, slowly gaining her trust. But his past is just as dark, and his secrets could break them for good.

Bell's writing was good, I found myself easily lost in the words and in Ree's life. It was definitely an emotional read, yet was perfectly balanced with humor. I found the plot at times had too much going on, it seemed that the story started going soap opera-ish toward the end. Overall, it was a good, short, emotionally charged, dark read.

Surrender to Fate Blog Tour and $25 GC Giveaway!!

Title:   Surrender to Fate (Fate’s Path #1)
Author:  Jacelyn Rye
Genre:   New Adult Romance 18+
Publication Date:  September 17, 2013
Cover Designed By:  Damonza
Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.
Some say fate holds the cards. But what if love deals the hand? No love goes untested. Ever. Indeed, true love is left to prove itself. And that is exactly where fate steps in to play the game.

For William and Sarah, that game begins with growing up, in the unspoiled mountains of Colorado. In a time and space as clear as the Rocky Mountain skies above, these young souls together learn about life, what matters most, what endures, what doesn’t, and about love. Innocent young love moves ever so surely toward lives they both can picture, lives spent loving each other in a place they know so well and cherish.

Will and Sarah are ecstatically swept away in the swells of new love. And it is in their rarefied bliss that they make the fragile promise of first love, a promise that fate will soon rock and pound into doubt, guilt, and epiphany.

Unexpected and unprepared, these young lovers are suddenly torn apart, first by distance, and then by the far greater pressures of temptation that test the very fidelity of their heart-held promise. No longer able to console each other, hold each other, touch each other, they face the inevitable decision: move on to other loves, or cling to the faith that they will someday be together, again.
Will and Sarah stare down an unknown path, sensing destiny will not wait long before it comes to take them. Wracked with doubt, they wonder if their love was real. Caged by guilt, they both feel tempted by others intent on stealing their hearts.

Fate plays hardest when love is tested. And Will and Sarah are no exception, letting go of their happy past to embrace hope for an uncharted future. Love plays hardest when fate tests. And so it is, even through their trials of the heart, Will and Sarah never really stop loving each other. Theirs is a love so real and pure that each just wants the other to find happiness, even if it's with another.

But fate does not surrender so easily. Dealing blow upon blow, both Will and Sarah are each struck by jolting events that take them to the very edge of life, itself.

Sarah and Will hold tightly to their past, but steadfast promises begin to wane. Life continues, filled with romance, drama, and two souls yearning to understand the challenges brought with coming of age, and learning that fate is ultimately in control. What happens to love when life is on the line? Can they both relinquish control when love is on the line? Will fate even allow them to find out?

Tell us something nobody knows about a difficult or funny moment that happen while writing your book.

It was time to write about a very harrowing event, and I had become so attached to my characters that I almost couldn’t bear to do it—and I put it off for as long as I could!  I thought of all sorts of other avenues to take the story, but in the end, I realized that I had to do it for the storyline.  I’ve heard from other authors that this is “normal”, but it felt very strange. I hated to put my characters through that!  (Yes, I’m seeking therapy!)
