MadLibs Monday and Giveaway Featuring Rebecca Hamilton

This installment of MadLibs Monday features Rebecca Hamilton. Rebecca Hamilton writes Paranormal Fantasy, Horror, and Literary Fiction. She lives in Florida with her husband and three kids, along with multiple writing personalities that range from morbid to literary. Having a child diagnosed with autism has inspired her to illuminate the world through the eyes of characters who see things differently. Here's her MadLib:

Letter from Camp

Dear Dad,

I am having a pleasant time at camp. The counselor is atrocious and the food is contrary. I met my husband and we became mean-spirited friends. Unfortunately, he is friendly and I contradicted my pinky toe so we couldn`t go flailing like everybody else. I need more sunglasses and a chocolaty sharpener, so please sleep scuba-diving more when my aunt gets back.

Your Daughter,

Rebecca

Here are my reviews for Forever Girl and Her Sweetest Downfall (novella). Both books are thoughtfully written and the romance aspect of both books was excellent! I love Rebecca's style of writing and adore the series thus far!

Auracle ARC Review

AuracleAuracle by Gina Rosati

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I won the ARC of this book and an amazing beaded/silver book mark compliments of Gina Rosati and YA Bound.

I absolutely adored this book! The story line was well developed, and was never lacking in excitement. There were well placed elements of humor and The romance aspect was very cute! The main character Anna was easily relatable and the paranormal aspect was very interesting. All-in-all a must read in my opinion.

Anna Rogan had been able to astrally project as long as she could remember. Despite her best friend Rei's warnings that it was dangerous, Anna didn't stop. Anna was pretty hard headed, and ignored Rei and the tug that told her something was wrong with her body. Thus, when she returned to her body after witnessing a terrible accident, it was inhabited by Taylor.

Anna and Rei work together to try and get her in her original body and to clear up the mess that was caused on Taylor's account.

Feature & Follow Friday

Feature and Follow Friday is host by Parajunkee and Allison Can Read and give bloggers a topic to discuss each week while discovering new blogs.

Q: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

I definitely feel that my reading habits depend upon my mood. I read more if I'm depressed. I don't really have a specific genre, I just pick a book off of my TBR list.

Thanks for coming by my FF, I always follow back! Be sure to check back here on Monday for an awesomesauce writing competition sponsored by Kirthi at Voyage/Pages and Me on Inky Compositions. Lots of great prizes being given away (amazon gift cards!!!) It's sure to be fun times! P.s. Don't forget to stop by my Giveaway page for some great book giveaways. :)

Throwback Thursday

Since I have recently gained the love of reading, I have felt a slight lacking of the classic book department. My resolve is to read one classic book a month. The book for the month of August, I read Pride and Prejudice.

Pride and PrejudicePride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book, by far has been one of my most difficult reads yet. I usually don't read this genre, but felt like I was missing out.. Maybe I'd love Mr. Darcy too! The fact is, I do.. I love Mr. Darcy! I had to keep a dictionary handy through out the book, because there were several words that I had never even read before. The journey was well worth it! P&P was a beautiful love story that can transcend the ages. I won't add much more to this review other than some of my favorite quotes from the book:

"There are very few of us who have heart enough to be really in love without encouragement."

"A person can be proud without being vein. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us."

And one of my favorite parts of the book, between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth:
"I vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."

Weigh In Wednesday

A weekly meme sponsored by Epilogue. Each week there will be a something vs. something topic for you to post your thoughts about. Make sure to visit Lauren at her awesome blog, Epilogue Review, and also check out the other nifty blogs also participating. :)

Todays topic: Edward vs. Jacob

Ok book world, don't be shocked, but I haven't read Twilight (nor Harry Potter). I know.. I know.. but I am not one for mass hysteria and whatnot. I will eventually read them, but not for another few years. So as per the weigh in this week, I can only go what I know looks, vampires vs. werewolves.

MY choice is Jacob.. I mean look at the boy. He is tan, ripped, and has that animal instinct. I like vampires too, but not in this case.
