Title: Feel The Heat
Author: Kate Meader
Publication date: May 7th 2014
When famous British chef Jack Kilroy unexpectedly challengers her father to a cook-off in her family’s Italian restaurant, Lili Deluca decides to seduce the tempting Brit. But after a video of them kissing goes viral, Lili fears she’s cooked up a recipe for disaster. Jack knows they could be amazing together, but can he convince Lili to realize her own ambitions—and turn up the heat in his kitchen?

“I’m sorry about my behavior the night of the dancing,” she said. “I was rude to you.”
“This is a tricky situation and you want to put it behind you. Neither of us wants a marriage, LT. I get that.” The unmistakable heart twinge he felt right then surprised him, but not enough to derail his train of thought. “So, it’ll just have to be sex.”
Her eyes fluttered wide and her mouth worked. “What?”
“We can just do a sex-only thing, like a married-with-benefits deal.”
Gotcha. Oh, his little beauty wanted to laugh. Her lips twitched and his dick twitched at the thought of bringing a smile to her exquisitely melancholy face. She appeared to be mulling it over, so he went in for the kill.
“Until we can make it annulled-with-benefits.” He waggled his eyebrows and pulled that brimming laugh out of her. Zing. Why did it feel better for being so hard won?
On the end of the laugh, she said, “Speaking of which, I’m picking up the papers tomorrow.”
“Hm,” he hummed. There was the twinge in his chest again, a touch sharper now. This was good, wasn’t it? Never had his life needed more clarity than it did of late, and fixing his marital status would go a long way to re-sharpening his focus.
She cocked her head. “Lili thinks I should take advantage of all you have to offer.”
“I always liked that girl.”
As quick as he had made gains, he lost them as another Cara brain check whipped them away. He imagined her calculating the statistical probabilities for disaster and coming up with 99.99%. This woman thought far too much.
“Shane, I’m flattered but frankly, you’re not my type.” She gave one of those I-don’t-want-to-offend-you-but-I’m-gonna-anyway smiles. “You’re much too nice for me.”
It wouldn’t be the first time he’d heard it and it made him angrier than a bull battling a bee swarm. It was the stuff of chick flicks and crappy sit-coms, how women love a bad boy and good guys finish last. Where in the hell did she get off calling him nice?
“Would you prefer I take baseballs out of kids’ hands at Wrigley Field or trip old ladies in the street? You want a guy who’s not nice?” Here he was defending “nice” when he wasn’t feeling particularly nice. Time to kick this up a notch.
“Were you not turned on the other night?”
Her mouth gaped and even that looked good on her. Was there no end to the ways she could get his blood pumping south?
He filled in her shocked silence. “The other night, when you kissed me—”
“You kissed me!”
“Semantics. When you kissed me and licked my chest.”
Flushing, she brought her palm to her cheek to cool it. “I know what I did. I don’t need you to remind me what I did.”
Man, seeing her all het up did hot and dirty things to him. He moved in and gently, tipped up her jaw. She shook under his touch but she didn’t retreat.
“I think you do need me to remind you. I think you need to be reminded of all the passion and fire that exists beneath that cool exterior you show to the world. I bet no one sees that, do they? No one sees how out of control you get when the right button is pressed. Maybe it’s just a whisper of my hand across your breasts...” He dropped his gaze to confirm that what he was saying had some effect on her and yep, to look at her lovely cleavage. Through the erotically-thin material of that dress, he found her nipples primed to hard points. “Maybe a breath close to your ear or my thumb gliding across your lip will set you off.”
Her tongue darted, making her lips moist, almost begging him to swipe that pouty lower lip with the pad of his finger. Take a soft suck, a juicy bite. The air felt close, the sweet scent of the cakes, Cara’s skin, and their choppy breathing combining to coat all his senses.
“Still think I’m not your type? Because your body says different. It’s telling me that we would be very compatible indeed. I bet if I was to run my hand down…” He trailed his fingertips down the placket of her dress, between her breasts, along her clenching stomach, until he sensed with his fingertips the band of her panties. A sexy thong, his Braille for underwear skills told him.
“I bet I’d find you’re as wet for me as I’m hard for you. Nice? Let me tell you, what I’m thinking about you is the opposite of nice.”

The Edge of Always Release Day Event and Giveaway!!

The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski
November 5, 2013
Forever/E-Book

Camryn Bennett has never been happier. Five months after meeting on a Greyhound bus, she and her soul mate Andrew Parrish are engaged-and a wedding isn't the only special event in their future. Nervous but excited, Camryn can't wait to begin the rest of her life with Andrew, a man she knows in her heart will love her always. They have so much to look forward to-until tragedy blindsides them.

Andrew doesn't understand how this could happen to them. He's trying to move on, and thought Camryn was doing the same. But when Andrew discovers Camryn is secretly harboring a mountain of pain and attempting to numb it in damaging ways, there is nothing he won't do to bring her back to life. Determined to prove that their love can survive anything, Andrew decides to take Camryn on a new journey filled with hope and passion. If only he can convince her to come along for the ride...

Camryn still loves the newer stuff and the Civil Wars more than anything and so that’s usually what we play.
Tonight will be no different.
I love watching her perform them next to me up on stage because she becomes so vibrant and playful and sexy as hell. Not that she isn’t all of those things already, but it’s like another more daring and flirty side of her comes out when she’s singing. And she doesn’t just sing—she puts on a show. I think it’s that little actress she’s always had buried somewhere in herself. She told me she performed in plays at school, and I can definitely see she has the knack for it.
But singing alongside me also seems to make her happy, and that’s why tonight is so important.
“I’m so nervous,” Camryn says next to my ear, having to speak loudly over the music.
I make a pffft sound with my lips. “Oh, please. Since when do you get nervous anymore? We’ve done this dozens of times.”
“I know, but I’m singing in front of your brother this time.”
“He can’t sing for shit, so his opinion is hardly valid.”
She smiles. “Well, I’m not nervous to the point that I don’t want to do it. I guess it’s actually kind of exciting.”
“That’s my girl,” I say and lean in to kiss her lips.
“Those two girls,” Camryn yells to me without looking in their direction, “front table to your left, they’re having sex with you in their heads right now, I swear to God.”
I laugh lightly and shake my head. We’d started picking people in the crowd to sing to lately.
“And that guy standing next to the woman in the purple shirt,” I say, nodding subtly in his direction, “has had your thighs wrapped around his head since you walked on this stage.”
“So it’ll be them tonight then, huh?” she asks.
I nod and say, “Uh-huh.”
“Make sure you give it to them good, baby,” she says, grinning wickedly at me.

“Oh, I will,” I say with the same amount of wicked on my face.

Making Faces Blog Tour and Kindle Giveaway!!

Title: Making Faces
Author: Amy Harmon
Publication date:
Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was thirteen. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.

Making Faces is the story of a small town where five young men go off to war, and only one comes back. It is the story of loss. Collective loss, individual loss, loss of beauty, loss of life, loss of identity. It is the tale of one girl's love for a broken boy, and a wounded warrior's love for an unremarkable girl. This is a story of friendship that overcomes heartache, heroism that defies the common definitions, and a modern tale of Beauty and the Beast, where we discover that there is a little beauty and a little beast in all of us.

One of the best books if the year!! Making Faces is a heartbreakingly beautiful, breathtakingly tragic, wonderfully romantic, absolutely perfect read! This story is the kind that will stay with you for the rest of your life. It is so unbelievably moving, a story about love, loss, grief, self-acceptance, and heroism.

Fern Taylor is the daughter of a preacher, she's beautiful on the inside.. but not so much on the outside. She had crazy red hair, coke bottle glasses, and braces. was She also had always been in love with Ambrose Young.

Ambrose is the most popular boy in town, the star of the wrestling team, and by far the most beautiful boy in school. Not ready for the pressures of college wrestling, he enlists in the army with some of his friends.

Bailey is Fern's cousin and best friend. He has a health issue that has confined him to a wheelchair. Despite his limitations, he is determined to live his life. He has always viewed Ambrose as a hero, but most of all he wants to be a hero too.

The story seems simple, the people are simple characters, the live in a simple town, but Harmon does a wonderful job of building a complexity throughout the story, I love reflecting upon that. It seems so crazy that something so simple can break down your walls. I would compare the emotional level of this with The Fault in Our Stars (one of my all time favs), however where that book was heartbreaking and beautiful, Making Faces is also uplifting and inspiring.

Overall, MF is one of my favorite reads, and I definitely recommend it to everyone!

*Side Note- as I sit here, weeks after reading Making Faces, I am reduced to a crying for the characters. But it is not a sad cry, it is for the boy that stole my heart and his courage.

Seductive Secrecy Blog Tour and Giveaway!!

Title: Seductive Secrecy (Shadows Series #2)
Author: Marni Mann
Genre: Erotica/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 24th, 2013
Publisher: Booktrope (http://booktrope.com/)
“We were two broken souls who had found each other in a world of shadows. We were held together by a connection of secrets, dark and fearful and reluctant to leave. Their depth was seductive and overwhelming, an endless ocean of black that threatened to cover the brilliance we kept reaching for with each other.”

With her art career flourishing and the mansion predators no longer a threat, Charlie is creating a new life. Her desires have changed, and she has a chance at a healthy, loving relationship with Cameron—if they can bury the memories and doubts that plague them.

Can they overcome the destruction of their clouded pasts, or will the revelation of more painful, shocking secrets pull them back into the shadows?

**This book is for mature audiences. It contains explicit language and sexual content.**

A gust of cold air burst through my body, tightening every muscle and clenching my lungs. The feeling was always the same, and it only came when I thought of that place…when the memories were thicker than the lessons I had learned by leaving there.

I set both brushes in a jar of water and walked across the hall to the apartment. Then I moved through the kitchen, my hands yanking at my sweater, lifting it over my head and releasing it once I got to the entryway of the bedroom. I peeled off my black skinny jeans until I reached my knee-high boots and dropped both along with my pants in front of the bathroom sinks. My panties and bra fell before I stepped into the shower and turned on the water.

The wall of glass that separated the shower from the rest of the bathroom began to fog, and the marble under my feet turned warm. Windows spanned both sides, overlooking different sections of the Back Bay; below the ledges were niches that held our bottles of shampoo and body wash, and benches for us to sit on. The back wall was a mosaic, an abstract. Water shot out from every direction, spraying from all sides as well as the ceiling. There were even streams below that covered my feet.

My skin was sweating now. Drops of scalding water ran off my body. The places that were being hit directly by the jets had turned a bright red. But it couldn’t stop the chill that continued to spread beneath my flesh.

Six months had passed since I’d left the mansion. I didn’t think about it as much as I used to, but when something instigated those thoughts—something like the mirrored floor in the painting—I had a hard time calming them down again. I still wasn’t sure how I was supposed to process what I had done there, what I had allowed to happen and how much I had once enjoyed it. Part of me didn’t want to take it back; part of me could barely keep down the bile that threatened to rise when I remembered. But that time in my life had gotten me here. And I was here, unlike some of the girls I had shared that house with.

I moved closer to one of the shower heads and pressed my hands against the cold marble that tiled the wall, leaning into the stream of water. It massaged the top of my head.

Breathe.

The drops that filled my ears blocked any noise that was around me. I could taste the product that drizzled from my hair—the spray I had used to hold my curls and the oil that gave it shine. My eyes closed and I inhaled the steam, trying to find a place of relaxation.

A place where the images and the screams would quiet to a dull moan.

And just as I found it, just as my palms no longer kneaded against the stone and my back didn’t pump and arch to find that place of complete comfort, just as I had finally gotten used to the temperature of the water, his arms wrapped around my chest. His hands cupped each of my breasts, his thumbs grazing my nipples.

“Why didn’t you wake me?” he whispered into my neck. His lips followed his words to my skin, his tongue circling the spot just to the side of my throat. It didn’t matter how often he had roamed my body, or how many times, it still felt so new, so unexpected.

“You need your sleep…” I told him. As soon as he touched me, I completely lost my voice. All I had were my desires, and they consumed me.

“I need you more,” he breathed.

Seductive Secrecy is a great followup to Seductive Shadows! It still has that dark and gritty feel to it, but some color starts to bleed into it. The book picks up a few months after the fall of the mansion, and you'd expect for Charlie and Cameron to be living happily ever after, "The Up and Coming Artists". But the past is a bitch to get over, they are both broken still, and Charlie's time at the mansion haunts her. Just when the couple think they have things settled, visitors from the past threaten to rip them apart.

I liked Seductive Shadows a bit more, because it was emotionally complex. It forced you to question yourself.. it ripped you apart.. poured a bit of salt in, but it had an implied HEA that I didn't much care for. But when I heard that Marni decided to write this book I was excited. Seductive Secrecy has more of a romantic aspect to it and a great heartbreaking angst in the middle. I love how, like the characters, their relationship is flawed and a tad insecure. I think Mann did a great job with this book, because the plot of the first book was so dark and a bit taboo to a plot that is primarily about relationships. But it remained interesting.

The ONLY thing I would criticize this book on is the smexy times, the first two scenes were steamy, but they became redundant after a while, I skimmed through them. And if I ever met a man that would like to keep his face buried between a set of legs like Cam, then I'd probably chain him to my bed. But jokes aside, oral scenes are boring to me and I could have done without so many of them.

If you liked Seductive Shadows, then you'll like this book. If you haven't read either, I'd recommend them both!

Love Lost and Found Blog Tour and $25 Amazon GC Giveaway!!

Love Lost and Found
by Michele de Winton
Felicity Williams can't remember the last five years thanks to an accident that wiped out her memory. She fled her old life in hopes of starting fresh and found refuge working on a cruise ship. But her past is coming for her…

Rick McCarthy wakes after a climbing accident to discover that his business partner and fiancée has quit her job and disappeared. He’s trying to accept that she’s run out on him, but now he needs her signature to close a deal that could literally be life or death. He’ll go to any extreme to get what he needs…even if that means becoming someone else to win her back.

But a little lie becomes a large mess when they’re stranded on a deserted island together, and old misunderstandings might ruin their chance at new love…

From page 38 –

Maybe I missed one of your attributes,” Felicity said. “You’re driven, focused, but hate women?”

Rick snorted. “Hate is a pretty strong word.”

“Don’t trust us, then?”

Too bloody right. “Who would? It’s all I love you, until something better comes along and then you’re off.” Rick would have stuck his hand in his mouth to get his foot out if it wouldn’t have made things worse. What’s wrong with you? You still don’t know the full story about Novotech. Chill.

“Phew. Lucky we decided to not talk about anything personal.”

Goddamn her for being so smart and—he looked for the word—sassy. It was as if she saw through him and refused to be put on the spot. This was not the Felicity he knew. Rick felt his shoulders hunching. Maybe she’d been playing him all along. Maybe this was the real her and the woman he’d worked with, dated and bedded, was her colder secret twin. Good one. “Any reason I should trust you in particular?”

“Probably not.” Felicity leaned forward and pulled half a lobster tail onto her plate. “I’d be very wary of me. If you’re not careful I’ll eat all this and you’ll have to go crying to the captain.”

Damn. She almost made him smile again. This was not going to plan at all. If he wanted to unravel this as quickly and cleanly as possible, he needed to be completely in control.

Rick stopped talking and focused on the food. She was too good. If he told her flat out who he was, who they were, she could either deny it outright or make some joke of it before she scrambled off to sell her soul to his competitors. At least at the moment she was contained in the middle of the Pacific with nowhere to go. Contained and—if that ass of a captain was as good as his word—at Rick’s beck and call for as long as he wanted.

She looked at him and shrugged before tucking into her lobster.

Then there was the possibility that she really did have amnesia. There really wasn’t an ounce of complicity in her face that Rick could detect. The more time he spent with her, the more he had to admit that maybe the reports of her memory loss weren’t a ruse. And the more he had to admit that her quick tongue added something even more enticing to the package her curves and sparkling eyes had always created.

“You’ll have a good time tomorrow, at least. All the passengers are going to Tabween Island, and you’ll be able to take your pick of the lonely-hearts. Got any good pickup lines?”

Maybe something slightly more direct. “Have we met before?”

“That’s not very original.”

“No, I’m asking you. Have we met before?”

She smirked. “You know you’re supposed to use that one when you first meet a girl, right? I don’t think it works as well when you’ve spent the day with her, growling at pretty much everything that moves.”

Epic fail. No blush, her pupils didn’t dilate an iota, no reaction at all. To this Felicity, he really was a stranger. So maybe this wasn’t an act. Rick listened as politely as he could while she told him about Tabween Island, but as she spoke the flicker of an idea tugged at him.

If this wasn’t an act, and Felicity really did have amnesia, maybe he could jolt her enough to get a few memories back. He’d read something about a burst of adrenaline helping amnesia sufferers. All he needed was the glimmer of a memory so he could explain who he was, who they were, and she could sign over the shares in the patent, finalize the investment deal and start planning their wedding. Putting her in survival mode might just do it. Maybe a little time to reflect, a little danger, a little quality time with him and she’d start unraveling. She’d always loved the outdoors. Tabween Island was about as remote as it was possible to get. Perhaps she could play Brooke Shields in his own private Blue Lagoon.

Rick gave his head a small shake at his own nostalgia. His priorities had to be about getting her to sign over the shares in the patent before he started thinking about rectifying a relationship that might already be dust. But it wasn’t as if they hadn’t enjoyed a great time in the bedroom. Rick smiled. Seclusion, survival, and a good dose of seduction. If there was anything that was going to get Felicity to either remember or at least hear him out when he revealed his reason for being there, that was going to do it.

A quick word with the captain and Plan B would be sorted.

Hi and thanks for stopping by!

Thanks so much for having me! It’s always a thrill sharing a new book with readers so I really appreciate you having me pop over today.

Okay, lets get the tough questions out of the way first.

Where did the idea for this series come from?  Often my answer to the where do your ideas come from question is a slightly boring, “everything I see around me.” It’s true, I do find inspiration in the everyday. Snippets of conversations, articles in the paper, photos in magazines. But with the Love on Deck series, it wasn’t every day that inspired me, rather a series of days that provided almost everything these three books required fully formed; characters, setting, sunshine, cocktails…bliss.
I was a guest writer on a Cruise ship. I know right, who knew there even was such a thing. But I had been doing a reading at an event and the CEO of a cruise ship company happened to be there. She asked if I’d be interested doing something similar. A free cruise? For Moi? Count me in! Of course I said yes! It meant that my husband and I had a sort of hybrid cruise, having a full guest experience with a lovely stateroom and full access to the onshore tours etc, but also going backstage and into the staff offices and quarters of the ship. The Cruise Director on my cruise was a man and I never even met the Captain. But watching the staff interact with guests and being involved with some of the shows sparked something in my mind. I have also been a professional dancer so felt I definitely knew what the entertainers on board would be thinking and feeling. The characters therefore burst almost fully formed onto my pages when I sat down to write them and then with their friendships and foibles established I just had to keep writing them.
I also visited an isolated tropical island on that trip and so the setting for part of Love Lost and Found was delivered to me, almost fully formed and ready to strand my unwitting characters on J
I like to make sure my ladies are working to their utmost capacity so I made my Cruise director a woman so in the first book, The Boss and Her Billionaire, Cruise director Michaela Western has everything she wants – except a sex life. There are no secrets on cruise ships and she won’t risk her career for a few moments of toe curling pleasure. But then a devilishly handsome new staffer with a body made for sin tempts her to walk on the wild side… Then in the latest release, Love Lost and Found, Michaela’s BFF Felicity has to cope with five years of amnesia. She flees her old life in hopes of starting fresh and finds refuge working on Michaela’s cruise ship. But her past comes to find her… And then in the third book, currently titled Tempted by the Boss’s Daughter and due out early 2014, if Charlotte hadn’t inherited her mean-bitch tempter from her cruise ship captain father she’s sure she would have made Head Chef at her last job. Or at the very least, been able to keep her job and not ended up stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in the kitchen from hell.
Where did all that come from? Real life. Well, almost.

What are your thoughts on good/bad reviews? People are entitled to their opinions and if we managed to divorce the emotion of our ego from that fact reviews are much easier to deal with. However I believe it’s always better to get a review full stop than not. The fact that someone has bothered to share their thoughts about your work with the world is a big deal in itself – at least all your hard work spurred them on to a reaction!

If someone were to write a biography about your life, whom would you want to write it and what would the title be? Ooooo. That’s super hard on the author front. Maybe Sarah Mayberry and Margaret Atwood could collaborate – that way it could have some crazy-cool future world building in it with some sassy dialogue and a happy ever after…? And for the title Reading while Falling

How much research do you do to prep for a novel? Sometimes like with this one the research comes along as an experience, and so it feels a bit like a gift rather than hard work. Other times, I need to immerse myself in books, movies and a location to “get” where and how the characters will tick. Always though there’s about a month of the idea bouncing around first before anything gets on the page. Moreover, I’ve only written one paranormal novella and even for that, in it’s completely fantastical world and with non-human characters, I still felt I needed to have an anchor of real life, so The Landing where is it set is loosely based on Akaroa Peninsula in Dunedin New Zealand.

What song best describes your writing ethic? Hmmmm, another curly one. How about 9 to 5? Not in the way that I feel oppressed by the big bad boss, given that the big bad boss is myself! But that I really try and get a 9 to 5 working day in as often as I can. And, well, Dolly Parton!

What was the hardest thing about writing Love Lost and Found? Coping with morning sickness and a bossy toddler while I was trying to do edits. Ha. I find it’s always real life that’s more difficult to cope with than the world’s I’m lucky enough to create when I’m writing ;-)

Anything you want to share with your readers? Thanks again so much for having me over. I really love to hear how people are finding the books I’m working on and whether a character or setting sparks a longing to hear more! Felicity for example wasn’t going to have her own story, but after The Boss and Her Hillionaire, she just seemed so great she had to get her own book! So do get in touch on Facebook, Twitter etc.

What's your current faves?
Television Show: I live in New Zealand so we sometimes get shows a lot later than the rest of the world. However I’m quite enjoying Orange is the new Black at the moment and we were very caught up in Game of Thrones for a while! I also watch a lot of Shortland Street – a New Zealand classic, as I’d quite like to write for it one day and have been given a little nudge of encouragement from time to time to do that.
Ice Cream: Kohu Road Dark Chocolate – melted dark chocolate in ice-cream form pretty much. Almost worth getting on a plane to the bottom of the world for! http://www.kohuroad.co.nz/

Movie: Arg. So many, but how about The Labyrinth as childhood inspiration sparkle. And, David Bowie! Plus all those cool puppets.

Song: Loving Royal by Lorde at the moment. Being very patriotic and supporting this amazing young New Zealand woman.

Book: Currently reading Russel Brand’s autobiography – My Booky Wook. Not exactly romance, but certainly a gritty snapshot at the brit funny man.
Quote:

Position (reading position that is): Oh er. I’m about to burst with a baby as I write that, so no position seems all that comfortable. But sitting up in bed with a cup of tea and a book or my iPad is always a joy if I can manage to hide from my toddler for long enough ;-)

Michele will be awarding a $25 Amazon GC to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour.

Michele was born in the mid 1970’s amid a burgeoning sprawl of vineyards and new retirement homes. With two teachers as parents, her love of reading and books was cemented at an early age. Being a writer however, was not was she was supposed to do when she ‘grew up’. Despite training in law (or perhaps because of it) she has been a dancer, producer, writer, and all round arty type in various countries for most of her life.

Moving into writing full time in 2010 was like being a part of a contemporary romance – perfect! Creating new worlds for her characters, or rather letting those same characters show her their worlds is now a highlight of Michele’s daily life. And falling in love over and over as each hero and heroine allow their true feelings to surface is something very special. What a treat to do it every day! Now back home in New Zealand after travelling extensively, Michele writes from an office where the sound of the tapping keyboard is only rivalled by the whisper of wind in the trees.
