Neanderthal Seeks Human Blog Tour and Giveaway!!

NEANDERTHAL SEEKS HUMAN
Knitting in the City, Book 1
Publication Date: March 14, 2013
Genre:  Contemporary Romance

There are three things you need to know about Janie Morris:

1) She is incapable of engaging in a conversation without volunteering TMTI (Too Much Trivial Information), especially when she is unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her more than Quinn Sullivan, and
3) She doesn't know how to knit.
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan- aka Sir McHotpants- witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn- the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies- to make her an offer she can't refuse.

I am a self-professed nerd, but this book takes it on a whole other level. I love every second of it! Janie Morris was a weird, awkward, anti-social nerd. She liked comic books and fancy shoes. She's only had one boyfriend in her entire life. She had this stalkerish-secret admiring thing going on for the security guard at her work, "Sir Handsome McHotpants" but never actually talked to him. That was until the worst day in her life was drawing to an end. With a box of office supplies, borrowed flip-flops, and Medusa hair, she is escorted to the security office by none other. He's just drop-dead, GQ, model sexy. He's sweet, yet stern.

Janie has chance encounters with Quinn over the next days, which garnered her a new job that she loved, a job that happened to be where Quinn worked. Quinn seems to manage her quirkiness, he doesn't ignore it, or make her feel weird, but he also doesn't let it take her away. There's a lot of back and forth, ups and downs between the two. It seems like their relationship will be lost, due to Janie overthinking things, but it all washes out in the end.

The book borders on Chick-Lit, but the romance was sweet, I liked the "smart" aspect of the book. I did get a little annoyed with Janie for being "her" at times. The story-line was a tad slow in spots, but it balanced out with some ACTION towards the end (and not the smexy kind, though there was some of that too!) There was several LOL moments, which made the book very endearing to me, especially the Strip Poker scene!!!!!

Overall, if you are like me, and need a break from the current romance market, then I really recommend this one. The characters, plot, and writing is great! The book focuses on the Romance/relationship of the book, and doesn't focus on sex. It is funny, romantic, a roller-coaster of emotions, and all around wonderful. A couldn't-put-downer for me! I am glad I took a chance on something different, it paid off!

SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-5, girl-3 as of this writing).

By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.
