My Review

This was me after reading The Do Over (at 12:30 in the morning):

I was hooked by chapter one! I could relate to Dani on almost every level possible especially the fact that she loves her book boyfriends!

"I had always been a reader, but over the past few years, I'd become a voracious one. I would dive into my stories and become distracted in their dramas, falling in love with the romantic heroes each and every time. My love affairs with my book boyfriends were short lived. I was a book slut. There really wasn't another word for it. Although, there were a few book boyfriends that left a permanent mark on my heart. I blushed when I thought of some of them. Books were my distraction from life. I detached from all that was going on around me and got lost in the world of fiction. No harm, no foul."

I loved every single thing about this book! It was romantic and funny, there was a good amount of angst and swoon. The writing was familiar and easy to read, without being simplistic. The Do Over was the first Triple POV that I've read, while being in the first person, and I have to say I quite enjoyed it. It was interesting getting inside the head of the "Bad Guy." Which is interesting, because you grow to like each character individually even when they're doing the wrong thing.

The with the way the plot unfolds, you as the reader know that some "ish" is going to hit the fan, and you're waiting on the edge of your seat the whole time. Making the 7000+ kindle pages book seem like nothing to get through. That's right 1 sitting for me! There are some that say this book is a love triangle, but I really don't see it that way. You'll see what I mean when you read it, but there's never a doubt in my mind where everyone stands.

Characters:

Dani is a book nerd that has been hurt in the past, thus has been on sort of a dry spell lately. Only loving a bowtie wearing smexy professor, or lusting after a billionaire dom with a thing for kinky fuckery. She has a sassy mouth and was easy to relate to. Though like most romance novel heroines, she has her down side! Dani is somewhat naive and forgives too easily, which ultimately could cost her the true romance that she only could read about.

Liam is a dedicated firefighter, who is very passionate about everything that he does. I love how he has an edge of cockiness but is never arrogant. He is sweet, caring, and handsome. The ultimate good guy. Not to mention, that he has magic hands! ;-)  There isn't a single thing that you would want to change about him. He's a stud muffin and adorable.

Rick on the other hand, *sighs* you just wanna do harm to his junk. He's such a jerk, but he is human. People make mistakes, some just take longer to learn from them. I think that his character is truly lost on who and what he is. Which incidentally most of the time is a dick. You feel for the guy though, it almost seems that he is oblivious to the kind of pain that he could cause another human being. And always realizes too late! Karma has a way of finding everyone eventually, but could his lesson cause him to lose the only person that truly understood him?

Final thoughts:

This is a wonderful debut novel, and a true romance! I look forward to reading more from Zaun, especially if it's more of this story. I definitely would like to read more about all of the characters. I love how the story ended, and I can only hope that all of the characters find their happiness. Go, read it! You won't be disappointed!
