Beautiful Chances by Alicia Rae is a multi-dimensional romance, with the blossoming love between Lily and Kyle, Lily's grief of her past, and the mysterious threat of potential danger for Lily. We first meet Lily living in Florida, leading the quiet life of romance writing, sunbathing, and photographing sunsets when Kyle approaches her on the beach and changes her life forever. She was surprised to be chased after by one of the most attractive men she had ever seen, and although she was resistant, Kyle was persistent. However, Lily is in a state of denial in her grief and has ironclad walls around her heart and Kyle's history of non-commitment doesn't do much to reassure her. But he proves to be a pillar of strength and helps to heal Lily so they can at least attempt to be together.

This is also a very saucy read, as often as Kyle is sweet and tender with Lily and her sexual inexperience, he also has his "Alpha" side with his bossiness and dirty talk leaving Lily (and the reader!) all kinds of hot and bothered. This book would definitely fall under the New Adult category, but it still had that sense of sweetness and newness of the budding relationship. It's one of those books you can get lost in, read from start to finish and not come back to the real world until you look at the clock and realize hours have passed. Be forewarned this book ends on quite a cliffhanger, not simply within the scene, but there are a lot of unresolved issues in the storyline. As much turmoil as the couple has already been through I really hope the sequel doesn't put them through the typical break up and make up that we usually see!
