Four in the Morning Review

Four in the MorningFour in the Morning by Christi Goddard

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, I loved it!! This was a fun read! This is quite a unique book.. I couldn't have imagined the direction that it took. There was a good mixture of LOL moments and WTF moments. The main character was easy to relate to. The first few set up chapters were kind of dry, but it picked up and never stopped. I would definitely recommend this book, it was different from most YA books.

Kathleen (not Kathy) is a clever, snide mouthed, goth girl. She envelops herself in a dark shell to protect herself from the cruel world. The biggest problem in her life is her abusive mother; that and the fact that her Mac and cheese was taken away and she was forced to diet. That was up until Josh (a childhood friend) asks her to write a letter. Then she meets Rigle, a sharp witted, annoying, magical skunk that promises to help her prevent a tragedy.

As Kathleen's luck has it, Ryan a boy she hates, turns up dead and the letter implements her. Shortly after, her mother goes missing. She has to figure out who she trusts, which turns out to be a life or death decision.
